Samsung has launched Z1 mobilephone, its first Tizen OS-powered smartphone in India with a price tag of Rs 5,700.
Samsung Z1 sports a 4-inch WVGA (480x800p) PLS display.It is powered by a 1.2GHz A7 dual-core processor and 768MB RAM and comes with 4GB internal storage expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. It runs Tizen 2.3 OS.
The phone sports a 3.1MP rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front camera, and comes with a 1,500mAh battery with a claimed talk time of 8 hours. It supports 3G, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity options.
The phone is capable of running Android apps. The phone also offers an 'Ultra Power Saving Mode' for extended use. The phone features SOS alert through which a user can send out a 'Help' message to primary contacts who can track the user's location to provide necessary assistance, with just a press of the power button four times.
Samsung Z1 will offer consumers free access to music, movies and TV content on Club Samsung and via partners such as Hungama, nexGTV and Box TV.
